The American fashion designer, rapper, and model Amber Rose was born in 1983 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Amber had a challenging upbringing; her parents divorced when she was young and by the time she was fifteen, she was actually working as a stripper under a pseudonym so that she could help provide for the family. Amber rose to fame with her appearance in Young Jeezy’s music video for the single “Put On”; after seeing her in the video, Kanye West took the aspiring young entertainer under his wing and featured her in some of the print ads for his line of sneakers.
Between 2009 and 2012, Amber Rose appeared in a number of music videos for artists such as Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa, and Nicki Minaj, and appeared in a number of print and video ads for various campaigns. She did attempt a music career in 2012, releasing the singles “Loaded” and “Fame,” and appearing as a guest artist on works for various other rappers, but in 2012, Amber’s attention shifted to the fashion world, starting with her clothing line Rose & Ono. Between 2014 and 2016, Amber also appeared in two films – School Dance (2014) and Sister Code (2015) – and also in an episode of the television series Black-ish.
In 2016, Amber Rose appeared as a competitor on the reality series Dancing with the Stars. She and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, finished in 9th place. Most recently, the Amber Rose Show debuted on the VH1 network. The show follows the standard “talk show” format and debuted in the summer of 2016. A few months later, Rose also began hosting Loveline.
